Kate is an experienced senior solicitor consultant, specialising in dispute resolution and risk management. She advises a diverse range of commercial clients and private individuals including multinationals, SME’s, household brand names and owner -managed businesses. She seeks to balance risk and reward.
Kate has a breadth of experience of commercial, construction, shareholder and business and franchise related disputes and arbitration proceedings nationally and internationally across a broad spectrum of sectors. She successfully represents clients in all levels of the English Courts, particularly focusing on the Commercial Court and High Court divisions. She promotes dispute resolution techniques, including Mediation and Arbitration where possible, with a pragmatic, cost effective solutions based approach.
Kate is accredited by the British Franchise Association (BFA) as a Qualified Franchise Professional and also acts as a BFA Mediator. She is the pro bono Chair of the South of England region for Encouraging Women Into Franchising (EWIF). She has won many legal and professional awards, personally and through her firm.
Kate studied English Law at an English University and also French Law at a French University. She trained and qualified as an English solicitor working at City lawyers Herbert Smith LLP (now Herbert Smith Freehills LLP) from 1989 in their London and Paris offices.
Kate has many outside interests, balancing family life with County level Badminton, dog walking and fitness challenges and socialising.
