Aug 2014
Downs have been proud to be associated with the Dorking Talking Newspaper for the Blind since the idea of creating the audio paper first took shape back in 1986. The newspaper relies entirely on fundraising, financial contributions and volunteers and provides a vital community news service to blind and partially sighted residents in Dorking and the surrounding villages. The service is completely free.
As part of the Heart of the Community initiative, the newspaper has been shortlisted to potentially receive a share of £20,000. Voting will be taking place form 4 to 28 September 2014 with the awards presentation taking place on 6 November 2014 at Nutfield Priory.
To help the newspaper become a very worthy winner, please collect your voting tokens by purchasing a copy of the Surrey Mirror, the Dorking or Leatherhead Advertisers on either the 4, 11 or 18 September 2014.
You really can make a difference so please get voting!
