We are delighted to announce that Liz Dalgetty has achieved an accredited qualification that recognises a high standard of care for vulnerable clients. The accreditation was developed to allow the Court of Protection to appoint an Accredited Legal Representative ( ‘ALR’) to ensure that vulnerable people who lack capacity have representation in welfare related Court of Protection proceedings.
Liz Dalgetty, Consultant Solicitor & Notary Public at Downs Solicitors, has a considerable portfolio of private clients, dealing with wills and probate, trusts and Court of Protection matters. The nature of Liz’s work sees her advising both elderly and vulnerable clients, including in relation to planning for the future, care fees and funding issues.
The Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accreditation by the Law Society, is a qualification that further proves Liz’s experience, commitment and dedication to protecting the quality of advice she is able to offer. It also gives her clients peace of mind that they are dealing with a practitioner who has accredited mental capacity expertise and is able to work closely with vulnerable individuals and their families.
What’s more, Liz is currently the only solicitor with the Mental Capacity Accreditation in Surrey.

I am passionate about representing the needs of vulnerable people, giving them a voice in complex and critical Court of Protection matters. The Law Society course in preparation for the accreditation has really helped me develop both my skills and knowledge in this area so I can focus on doing my very best for my clients.”
