Downs Solicitors LLP has announced six new promotions at its Surrey offices, effective as of 1st April.
Gemma Lawrence, Liz Turvil and Heather Love will become partners at the Surrey-based law firm, which has offices in Dorking, Cobham and Godalming, while Joanna Pashley will become Senior Associate, and Emily MacNiven and Sarah Clarke will become Associates.
Property lawyers Gemma and Liz have built up strong careers in residential and commercial property development, with Liz joining Downs as a Senior Associate in May 2019 and Gemma joined in 2022 bringing a 20-year career in property purchases, mixed-use agreements and leasehold management. Heather is an experienced employment lawyer who joined Downs Solicitors in November 2021 as a Senior Associate and deals with companies of all sizes with both contentious and non-contentious HR issues.
Other promotions include Joanna Pashley, a Private Client solicitor specialising in estate planning, wills and powers of attorney, who will become Senior Associate. Emily MacNiven began her career at Downs as a trainee and has since become an integral part of the corporate team specialising in mergers and acquisitions and general commercial work, and Sarah Clarke has been a Chartered Legal Executive at Downs since September 2020 specialising in residential conveyancing.
Chris Millar, Senior Partner at Downs, said it had been a year of continued growth at the firm and it was reflected in the team’s hard work.
