Surrey’s care workers took centre stage in a dazzling gala Awards ceremony held at Epsom Downs Racecourse on Friday 22 November 2013
The Surrey Care Awards are the county’s ‘Oscars’ for care workers and recognise the hard work and dedication of people working in a wide variety of jobs in adult social care including dementia care, caring for people in their own homes and caring for adults with learning disabilities. The 55 finalists were all nominated by their colleagues, with glowing and often moving testimonials from service users and their families.
There were 14 award categories open to care workers and Downs Solicitors LLP were delighted to sponsor Care Newcomer of the Year which was won by Alex Floran of Longdene Homecare CHD Living, Godalming, Surrey. Alex, pictured below, was presented with his Award by Heather Kershaw from Downs Solicitors' Care Group along with 70's pop sensation Alvin Stardust, also pictured below.
