Downs Solicitors were delighted to support Home-Start Elmbridge and Home-Start Guildford's charity golf day which took place at Effingham Golf Club on 28 March 2014. Home-Start Elmbridge and Guildford are part of the UK's leading family support charity, which has 334 schemes throughout the UK with over 16,000 volunteers. The charity offers friendship and emotional and practical support to parents with children under 5 years old. Trained volunteers visit families in their own homes to help parents build better lives for their children.
In addition to an enjoyable day's golf which included Nearest the Pin and the Longest Drive competitions, players also had an opportunity to test their golfing skills against TV commentator, John Inverdale - seen below with Partners, Nigel Cook and Matthew Kilgannon, together with their guests. There was also an auction, silent auction and raffle to help raise much needed funds for the two charities. They raised the fantastic sum of £12,400 which will be split between the two charities.
